It is the holiday season where everybody’s out there putting up their lights for Christmas and all other celebrated holidays, this time of year. So why not do, a ‘Mini Home Inspection’ while you’re out there putting up the lights?
There are some simple things that you can do; a quick little inspection per say: the first of which is electrical outlets, is the outlet working or not? Circuit breakers, are they tripping, when you plug in all of your outside lights and lighted decorations? Overgrown shrubs, plants should be about two feet from the house to protect the foundation. If they are getting out of control, it may be a good time to cut them back. Roofs, and gutters, if you’re on a ladder to hang the lights, look at the roof and gutters, are the gutters clogged? Are any shingles missing on the roof? Is rainwater pooling next to
the foundation? You know, all of these little things add up. How about checking for pest damage; you might see something that’s going on that you weren’t previously aware of? Is there any kind of, wood rot or damage to any other parts of the house that you happened to see? It’s just making yourself aware, making a conscience effort when you’re out there, hanging, Christmas lights, to do your own ‘Mini Home Inspection’.
